Three months into the 2008 football season and it's time for some drastic changes in teams unhappy with their table position. With a third of matches played, it's time for some teams to turn it around in order to achieve this season's goals.
Teams like Tottenham and Newcastle have already had major shake-ups in their coaching staff and team structure in attempts to jumpstart their seasons.
While as of late, Arsenal has had a string of lackluster performances and issues with now ex-captain William Gallas' media interactions. What is Wenger's solution to the problem? Bestow the captaincy on Fabs. Cesc had a fantastic year last season, but so far has yet to reach or capitalize on last year's awesomeness. He has only 3 assists and 1 goal thus far. Fabregas has been able to step it up on past occassions when the Gunners are without their key strikers, Adebayor and RvP. In his young career, Fabs has matured rapidly so perhaps Wenger sees this as a new challenge that will further mature this young player and ignite his form.
FC Bayern has turned around their recent poor performance with a 4-1 win over Energie Cottbus this weekend. After going up 2-1 Bayern played around with more fancy footwork and more difficult passes looking like the steam-rolling FCB of old. Poor Klinsman looks old and tired, hopefully this decisive win will put the spring back in his step! Or, maybe on-loan Laddie Donovan can help out too!!
In other newz, http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7743044.stm Rio Ferdinand will get a chance to live out his acting dreams alongside fellow "winner" Cashley Cole in a cinematic adventure about British gangsters that also includes the thespiatic skillz of one 50 Cent.
